I am James Asser, I was elected in July 2024 as the Member of Parliament for the new constituency of West Ham and Beckton. I’ll continue to use my experience as a local resident, a campaigner and local councillor to be your champion in Parliament.
I live here and spent six years as a local councillor, I am proud to continue to serve and represent everyone in West Ham and Beckton.
I know how important it is that local people have someone to support them and to be their voice both locally and nationally. Since my election I have spoken in the House of Commons and Parliament on a range of issues across housing, education, poverty, and international policy. Issues that I know are important to my constituents. I have also used my position to support local campaigns such as the campaign to save the East London Gymnastics Centre and will continue to champion the causes at the heart of the community.
